What affects the price

What really affects the price of a website

Four factors explain most of the difference between a basic website and a larger project. Colour choices are only a small part of it.

Scope and structure

Five pages and a contact form, or thirty pages with a catalogue and filters? Each page needs design, content and mobile checks. Scope is a major part of the budget.

Content and copy

If you provide text and photos, delivery is faster and there is no extra cost for producing them. Writing and photography need their own budget and time. We can help you prepare your copy.

Additional features

Bookings, a calculator, a catalogue, multiple languages or integration with an existing system. Each feature adds work, and on a hosted platform may also add a recurring subscription charge.

Maintenance and operation

A website needs care after launch. Who will edit content, maintain updates and backups, and what will that cost each year? Compare ongoing costs as well as the initial build.

How to choose

How to compare two website proposals

Compare more than the final amount. Look at what is included, when the website will launch and who will own it.

Things to check

Hourly budgets, subscriptions and uncertain dates

  • An hourly rate without a cap leaves the final price uncertain.
  • Add up recurring fees for the builder, template licences and plugins.
  • Check whether the delivery date is a commitment or only an estimate based on availability.
  • Check that the domain is registered to you and that you will receive access to the website.
What to ask for

A fixed price, a deadline and a website you own

  • A written price stating whether domain, hosting, mobile layout and SEO are included.
  • A clear deadline and what happens if it is missed. Our website packages include a 20% discount for delays caused by us.
  • A clear list of what you can edit yourself and what counts as additional work.
  • Ownership and access details, with guidance at handover.
FAQ

Answers to what we hear most often

Why can website quotes differ so much?

A low-cost quote may cover filling a template with your content or access to a builder you configure yourself. Larger quotes may include research, design, copy, booking or catalogue features and project management. We build designs and code for your business from EUR 530 to EUR 1 020, with direct access to the developers and a clearly defined scope.

Is it worth choosing the cheapest website?

Compare the upfront saving with ongoing costs and limitations. A template or builder can be suitable for testing an idea. If your website needs to generate enquiries, consider speed, mobile usability, SEO, ownership and support when you need changes. Moving between platforms can also require a rebuild.

What if I need more pages?

Start includes up to five pages, Business up to ten plus a blog, and Premium covers the agreed page count for your needs. If you need more, we can move you to a larger package or quote the additional pages upfront. We price product or service catalogues after a short scope review. If one page is enough, a one-page website fits within Start.

What does a website cost each year after launch?

The first year of domain registration and hosting is included. From the second year, domain and hosting together typically cost EUR 40 annually. We provide basic updates, backups and monitoring for our websites at no extra charge. When comparing other solutions, include platform subscriptions, template and plugin licences, and maintenance time.

Do prices include VAT?

All prices exclude VAT. Our fixed-price packages cover the agreed scope, with no extra hours added to the invoice or hidden charges.

What happens if you miss the agreed deadline?

We guarantee the agreed delivery date for our website packages. If a delay is our fault, you receive a 20% discount. The delivery period starts when we have all the required materials, including text, logos and photos.

Are the domain and hosting included?

Yes. The Start, Business and Premium website packages include the first year of domain registration, hosting and an SSL certificate. From the second year, hosting and domain renewal together typically cost EUR 40 per year with us, or you can move to your own provider.
