A website for a Prague sign maker that shows the workshop
HUFI has been manufacturing and installing illuminated signs, pylons and store fit outs for retail chains for over 25 years. We built a Czech and English website that shows its own production, high altitude installations and projects by service instead of long copy.
Czech and English
added by the company itself
A large company needs a website that holds up in front of the next retail chain
HUFI designs, manufactures, installs and services signage for retail chains, DIY stores and commercial premises. A new contract comes from a buyer or the marketing team of a large company who checks the supplier first. In a few minutes the website had to show the workshops, the installations and well known brands in the photos.
Less copy, more examples of work
The client wanted a modern, clear website with refined details, black and white production photos that turn into colour, and pages that react to the mouse. Long generic advertising copy was to make way for real projects. No e-shop and no catalogue, but a gallery split by what the company makes.
What had to be solved
- Customers are large companies that vet suppliers before they call.
- Hundreds of projects across Czechia and Europe, but no place to see them clearly.
- Dozens of kinds of signage, from LED letters to vehicle wraps, that a layman cannot tell apart under one name.
- Some customers are abroad, so the website had to work in English too.
What we delivered
A website built around photos from the company's own production and installations. Every service has its own page with projects, the whole process from design to service sits on one line and the enquiry form is one click away from every page.
- Eight service pages, each with the projects that prove it.
- A project gallery with well known brands and photos from high altitude installations.
- The production facilities and a five step process, from design to aftercare.
- Czech and English from day one, the admin shows where a translation is missing.
From three designs to a gallery the company fills itself
Brief
Who the customer is, what they want to see and where they decide.
Design
Three visual directions, chosen together with the whole company.
Photos
Black and white production that comes alive in colour on hover.
Projects
A gallery by service instead of a product catalogue.
English
A second language version with its own addresses.
Admin
Projects, services and facilities are edited by the company.
A website that shows production, not slogans
Design, copy from the client's materials, the English version, the gallery and the admin from a single supplier.
Well known brands in the company's own photos
A dark website that lets the customers' colourful logos stand out. Workshop and installation photos are black and white and turn into colour on hover. No stock photos, only real projects.
The company adds a new project itself
Projects, services, production facilities, the process and the About page are edited in a Czech admin. Order is changed by drag and drop, photos are resized into several sizes automatically and the overview shows at a glance which project lacks an English translation.
The whole process under one roof
Five steps from design through technical solution, production and installation to aftercare sit side by side on the home page, as the client wished. Below them are the company's own workshops and machines and installations from platforms and cranes. Production videos can be paused and without motion a still photo is shown.
English that keeps the page
Every page has an English version with its own address and the language switch leads to the same content, not to the home page. The form, error messages and search descriptions are translated too.
Ready for search engines and AI
Structured data about the company and services in both languages, a sitemap, descriptive alt texts and an llms.txt file that AI search engines can read.
What the website does
A presentation of a manufacturing company for large customers, built on photos from the workshops and finished jobs.
- Eight service pages with the projects that prove them
- A project gallery with a page and photos for every job
- The production process in five steps side by side
- Production facilities with photos of workshops and machines
- Black and white photos and videos that turn into colour
- Production videos can be paused, a still photo without motion
- Czech and English with their own addresses
- An enquiry form protected against spam
- Structured data about the company and services
- Sitemap and llms.txt for search engines and AI
- Admin in Czech including drag and drop ordering
- Overview of projects missing an English translation
Hundreds of jobs finally in one place
A retail chain buyer can now see the production, installations and finished jobs in a few minutes and send an enquiry in Czech or English. The company adds further projects itself, without a developer.
Measured on the live website
The website does not run on a rented template or a bundle of plugins. Pages are rendered on the server, photos are served as WebP in several sizes and the server keeps finished pages in cache.
We measured the speed on the live site in October 2026. Check it yourself, just paste the address into Google PageSpeed Insights.
What manufacturers ask before a new website
We have hundreds of jobs, do we have to put all of them online?
No. A selection that shows the range of work is enough for the launch, here it was fourteen projects across eight services. The company adds more itself in the admin and each project then appears under its service and in the gallery.
Do we need an e-shop or a product catalogue?
A made to order manufacturer usually does not. HUFI considered a catalogue for search, but a project gallery split by service won. The customer sees finished work and every service has its own page that Google can find.
Can the website be in English right away?
Yes and it pays off from the start. Every page gets an English address, the switch leads to the same content and the admin shows where a translation is missing. We translate the copy from your materials and you approve it.
We have no copy ready, only production photos. Is that enough?
It is. We put the copy together from your materials, emails and what the photos show, we make nothing up. Customer names, figures or awards go online only once you confirm them.
How much does a website like this cost?
In scope it matches the Website with a CMS option in our price list. The exact price depends on the number of services, the second language and how much content you supply yourself.
Is there a monthly fee for the website?
Not for the website or the admin. You only pay for hosting and the domain. No fees per page and no paid plugins.
Who built the website?
The devBoys developers, who have been building websites since 2017. We did the design, code, copy and the English version ourselves, without a template and without subcontractors.
