An e-shop that sells print books and e-books
The Náměsíčník publishing house had its first title ready for print and nowhere to sell it. We built a tailor-made e-shop: every format of a single book with its own price, an e-book to download right after payment, the GoPay payment gateway and orders handed over to an external warehouse.
Print and e-book
GoPay and cash on delivery
A finished book with nowhere to go
David Machala publishes sci-fi and fantasy in Olomouc under the Náměsíčník brand. The first title went to print, but there was nowhere to buy it. Books also need more than one price and one button: paperback, hardback and e-book each sell differently, and the e-book has to reach the reader straight away.
A new brand with nowhere to sell
The publisher had a logo, texts and a book about to come out. There was no website, no way to take an order and a payment, no customer records and no route for delivering the electronic edition. The budget matched a start with one title, not a large store.
What an off-the-shelf template could not do
- —One title in several formats, each with its own price and availability.
- —The e-book has to arrive right after payment, at night and at weekends too.
- —Orders are shipped by an external warehouse that needs them in an exact format.
- —The publisher starts with one book, not with a thousand items.
What we delivered

- ✓E-books on private storage, the download link goes out by e-mail after payment.

- ✓A one-click order export for the warehouse, invoices and credit notes in PDF.
From manuscript to order
Brief
The catalogue, the formats and the path to the warehouse.
Design
Calm serif typography with the books up front.
Catalogue
Books, authors, genres, series and samples.
E-books
Files off the public web, links only after payment.
Checkout
Cart, shipping, GoPay, cash on delivery, invoices.
Admin
The client runs the store without a developer.
An e-shop built around books
Design, catalogue, checkout and admin from one supplier. All on one domain and under the publisher's control.
Formats with their own price
On the detail page the reader picks the paperback, the hardback or the electronic edition and the price and the button change with it. Next to the blurb sits a sample, the page count, the ISBN and the other volumes in the series.
A Filament admin
A new title, a new price, a new order. The publisher runs everything alone in a Czech admin and uploads the e-book as a file attached to a format.
Download right after payment
The files sit off the public web. After payment the customer gets their own download link by e-mail and staff can resend it at any time. A cart with e-books only skips shipping and cash on delivery.
Orders reach the warehouse
Card payments through GoPay or cash on delivery, with the carrier picked in the cart. Staff download the orders to be shipped with a single button, in the format the warehouse can read.
Ready for search engines and AI
Every book carries structured data with the author, ISBN, price and availability, plus a sitemap with covers and files that AI search engines can read.
What the e-shop does
A complete sales e-shop for a publisher, not just a shop window with books.
- Books with author, series, ISBN and page count
- Formats as variants with their own price
- On sale, coming soon and sold out states
- A sample from the book and other volumes in the series
- Authors and genres with their own page
- Search that ignores diacritics
- A cart and a three-step checkout
- Zásilkovna including pickup points
- Card payments through GoPay and cash on delivery
- E-books with a download link after payment
- Invoices and credit notes in PDF
- Order export for an external warehouse
An owned store instead of a rented one
The publisher sells print books and e-books from one place, hands orders over to the warehouse and pays nothing monthly for the platform. The e-shop belongs to the client, data and code included.
What publishers ask before launch
Can the e-shop sell print books and e-books at the same time?
Yes. One title carries as many formats as you need, each with its own price and availability. The reader picks the format on the book detail and exactly that one goes into the cart.
How does the customer get the e-book?
After payment they receive their own download link by e-mail. The files are not publicly accessible, the link only leads to a paid order and staff can resend it from the admin.
How much does an e-shop like this cost?
This e-shop matches our E-shop with no monthly fees package, which starts at 40,000 CZK in our price list. The exact price depends on the size of the catalogue, the design and the payment, carrier and warehouse connections.
Are there any monthly fees?
None to a platform. The e-shop is yours, you only pay for hosting and the domain, roughly a thousand crowns a year. No tiers and no paid add-ons that grow with your catalogue.
Who will run the e-shop?
You will. Books, authors, genres, orders and customers are all managed in a Filament admin. The e-book is uploaded as a file attached to a format, nothing else is needed.
Can the e-shop connect to an external warehouse or accounting?
Yes. We can hand orders over in the form your warehouse or accounting system reads. At Náměsíčník staff download them with a single button straight from the admin.
What happens when more titles arrive?
You add them in the admin and the running cost stays the same. The e-shop is not limited by the number of books or formats, a growing list does not push you into a higher tier.
What the e-shop runs on
This e-shop matches our E-shop with no monthly fees package
It starts at 40,000 CZK in our price list and covers the design, the catalogue, the checkout, the admin and the payment gateway and carrier connections. In that bracket Náměsíčník also got what books need: formats of a single title, downloadable e-books and an order export for the warehouse.
